Important Changes to Data Protection Legislation

The General Data Protection Regulation is a new EU law that will come into effect on 25 May 2018 to replace the current Data Protection Act. It’s the biggest overhaul of data protection legislation for over 25 years, and will introduce new requirements for organisations that process personal data. .

The regulations will affect all organisations holding personal data and new processes and procedures must be in place and evidenced by the May implementation date. We will keep you up to date with developments and encourage you to read the attached document from the Information Commissioner's Office which details 12 steps that you can take now to get ready for the changes.

Further information on the Data Protection reform can be found on the Information Commissioner's Office website.
