Workshop – Planning for Transition

Contact has now confirmed six free workshops across Scotland this autumn for parents of young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

Booking for these is now open through

Workshops in Inverness, Alloa, Inverurie and Livingston will give parents an insight into the process of transition along with information, tips and tools to support their own planning and preparation. A workshop in Galashiels will look at powers of attorney and guardianship, introducing parents to the legal considerations around ongoing support for their family member, and equipping them to make the best decisions for their own circumstances.

Please note the workshops are aimed at families and are not open to professionals. They are part of a wider parent consultation funded by the Scottish Government through the Children, Young People and Families Early Intervention and Adult Learning and Empowering Communities (CYPFEIF and ALEC) Fund.
