Micro-volunteering and Short-term volunteering
Micro-volunteering is a way for individuals or teams to complete small one-off tasks to help local, national, or international organisations.
The organisations are often charities undertaking research, campaigns or awareness raising. This type of volunteering is a little different as the tasks can be one-off, they require no special equipment or knowledge, and they take from only a few minutes to a few hours to complete. They can be home-based or in a local community and organisations provide everything you need including any online training. Volunteers are not necessarily expected to give any longer-term commitment – but you can of course!
Short–term volunteering can help with specific projects or events and tasks could be seasonal, for a few weeks or a few months.
These opportunities can work well for building confidence, meeting new people or if you are unable to commit to an ongoing volunteer role. Most are based in Orkney, but some can be done from your home.
If your organisation has a short-term opportunity that volunteers could help with and we can advertise here for you, do get in touch!
