New Bill to support disabled children

Today, 9th October, Johann Lamont MSP will formally launch her proposed Member's Bill, the Disabled Children and Young People (Transitions) (Scotland) Bill. The Bill, announced in the Scottish Parliament at 1.30pm today, would give a right to a Transitions Plan to every child or young person with an impairment or long term health condition. Support would remain in place until it was no longer needed, or until the young person's 26th birthday.

The Bill has been developed by Ms Lamont, with support from Camphill Scotland and Inclusion Scotland.

More information will shortly be available on the Scottish Parliament (Bills) website.
