VAO exists to promote, support, inspire and develop the third sector in Orkney. VAO provide proactive, quality, responsive services to local organisations. VAO represents and empowers the third sector to work in partnership as key contributors to the social economy.
VAO will work with you and for you, to make sure that your organisation gets the support, advice and information you need to deliver your services to the Orkney community.
This could be by helping you complete a funding application, offering training on office-bearer roles, or helping you to recruit volunteers. We also lobby local and national government on behalf of the third sector, to make sure that everyone's voice is heard on issues that affect them.

VAO is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. We are governed by a Board of Directors elected from our membership.
