The Orkney Community Mental Health Team, is made up of a psychiatrist, community psychiatric nurses, psychologist, occupational therapist and social work professionals who work with individuals that are experiencing moderate to severe/complex mental health issues, usually longstanding and/or recurrent in nature with significant risks and impact on daily living or occupational functioning. For example; severe depression, psychosis and eating disorders. Within the Community Mental Health Team there are specialists who work with children and adolescents, adults of working age, substance misuse and older adults. Their role is one of assessment, treatment and support for these individuals and they work cooperatively with other services dependent on an individual's needs.
