Orkney Federation SWI is an organisation with nineteen institutes. Institutes hold meetings once a month usually with a guest speaker and competitions. New members are always welcome. The Federation holds various competitions throughout the year, a Bulb Show in March; a Handcraft Show in July and a Baking Show in October. There are other various classes held throughout the year from flower arranging to craft classes and maybe a cookery demonstration. We have an instructor who will come to Orkney to give a weekend school on various crafts. We also compete in various competitions within Orkney and the winning institute will compete south against other institutes.
