The RSPB's Species on the Edge project in Orkney works with local communities to protect nine target species, including the Great Yellow Bumblebee, Curlew, Lapwing, Arctic Tern, and Little Tern. This four-and-a-half-year program, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and run in partnership with other conservation charities, focuses on habitat management and is designed to benefit both wildlife and people by addressing threats like habitat loss and climate change.
