Health inequalities: peer research into the role of communities Wednesday morning, 5 February 2020, Edinburgh, FREE
23 December 2019
Project background
Since March 2019, Children in Scotland has been working with Dalmarnock Primary School (Glasgow) and Baldragon Academy (Dundee) to explore the role of place on health, wellbeing and inequality. Scotland has some of the worst health and widest health inequalities in Europe. This project has looked at exploring how the areas that children and young people live in contribute to this. Children in Scotland, with funding from the Wellcome Trust and support from Professor Niamh Shortt at The University of Edinburgh, carried out a participative research project with 15 young researchers aged 10-14 living in areas of high deprivation in Glasgow and Dundee.
