Official opening of the Papdale East Community Park

Council Convener Graham Bevan will cut the ribbon to officially open the Park on Friday 21 April and the community are invited along to celebrate the occasion from 12noon until 4.30pm.  There will be speeches and a range of activities throughout the afternoon, with something for everyone!

Local community group Papdale East Playpark Association (PEPA) will be showing their designs for the phase 2 project, which aims to create a multi-generational space for people of all ages and abilities and they would really value your input to the design proposals.

Members of the project team will be on hand to provide guided walks.  Alex Clarke of Cycle Orkney and Magda Choluj or Cycling UK will also be there to offer free bike servicing and an opportunity to try out some e-bikes and adaptive e-cycles.  Magda will also be leading a Bike Picnic with pupils and parents from Papdale Primary School.

PEPA will serve teas and coffees and host a bake sale and everyone is encouraged to take a picnic along, enjoy the new community space and make an afternoon of it.
