Community Planning Partnership

The Orkney Partnership Board

Orkney Community Planning Partnership – known as The Orkney Partnership, exists to ensure that community planning involves the councils and other public bodies work with local communities, businesses, charities and voluntary groups, to improve services for those who need them.

This is done through the work of the Orkney Partnership Board which has established three strategic delivery groups, all of which contain third sector members:

The Sustainable Development Group – supporting Community Wealth Building and achieving the Net Zero target by 2030 for Orkney

The Cost of Living Crisis Group – tackling the underlying causes of poverty, through projects such as the Orkney Money Matters Project; and

Local Equality Group – to ensure people across Orkney have equal opportunities.

Voluntary Action Orkney and third sector staff attend the meetings for these Groups throughout the year, with the aim of co-ordinating action and resources, to improve the lives of local people and working to support The Orkney Community Plan.
