Our Listening Ear project provides social support to people who are feeling isolated as a result of their involvement with the criminal justice system.
People are often isolated because of the stigma that can be attached to their offence. People with a conviction for a sexual offence (and their family members) often face the most significant isolation due to societal stigma.
We are looking for people who would be happy to volunteer one hour a week to provide social contact to someone who is feeling isolated.
No specialist knowledge is required, simply an open, non-judgemental attitude and a friendly, listening ear.
Access to a phone is required to enable you to stay in touch with the person you have been matched with.
