We are looking for a Lifeboat Press Officer to join our team at the Kirkwall Lifeboat Station.
You will help us save lives at sea by raising awareness of the RNLI, through promoting the activity of the lifeboat station, highlighting the lifesaving work of our volunteers and sharing key messages via local, digital and social media.

Training to fulfil your volunteer role will be provided and reasonable out of pocket expenses reimbursed. The role can be carried out from home or at the station, but some time at the station would be required.
Experience required
• Excellent writing, communication, and IT skills;
• Good interpersonal and media relations skills;
• Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible;
• Influencing, tact and diplomacy skills;
• Interest in new media/video editing/photography
Training details
Volunteers will undertake 7 online training modules covering a range of topics relevant to the role, such as news release writing, social media and key messages, plus ongoing support through the Regional Media Team.
