Connect Orkney is preparing for an exciting period of development in the year ahead, and we are pleased to announce that there we are looking for trustees to join the Board. This is a chance for community-minded individuals to play a meaningful role in shaping a service that makes a real difference to young adults across Orkney.

Our work supports young people aged 16–21 who may face barriers as they move into adulthood. Through personalised programmes, we help build confidence, develop practical and social skills, and create positive pathways at a crucial stage in their lives. As a trustee, you will contribute to the strategic direction and good governance of Connect Orkney, ensuring our services remain responsive, effective, and grounded in the needs of the young people we serve.

We welcome interest from people with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. You don’t need prior board experience—just a commitment to our values, a willingness to work collaboratively, and a desire to make a difference in the lives of our young people.

Further details about Connect can be found on the VAO website. If you would like to learn more, please contact morven.brooks@vaorkney.org.uk
