HeatHack is a new small charity that helps community building operators across Scotland understand and agree how to manage their energy use and move away from fossil fuels – even if they are in difficult buildings like churches. We are looking for a charity secretary and particularly welcome those who are new to charity boards and those who would increase the diversity of our board, where rural communities, ethnic minorities, and those from non-Christian faith groups are poorly represented.
Experience required
Applicants should be organised and methodical, have experience of minute-taking and the use of a system such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, and be interested in learning more about charity governance and law with a commitment to promoting good practices. Knowledge of typical committee procedures would be an advantage.

Travel expenses
Our policy is to ensure no one is out of pocket for what they do, within the limits of what the charity can afford. Trustees, volunteers, and staff are encouraged to claim expenses after pre-approval and will be discouraged from taking activities that would cause them unreimbursed expense. We do not expect this role to incur travel expenses, but recognise that there may be instances where this is appropriate, for instance, to attend training.
