What will you be doing?

Would you like to help us keep our birdwatching hides at Birsay Moors (on Burgar Hill) and Cottascarth clean and tidy?

We’re looking for a volunteer for each of these hides to pop in once a fortnight to give them a quick sweep and tidy, and to check that everything is looking good, so living fairly local to them would be an advantage.

A great chance to do some birdwatching whilst helping us keep our hides spick and span, and we’ll provide everything you’ll need.

Desirable skills

Reliable, good attention to detail, and people skills to engage with members of the public whilst cleaning.   The hides are difficult to access by public transport as they are not directly on any public transport routes, so the ability to drive to the hides would be useful.

Training

You will be given an induction and training on site at the hide to explain what will be needed. All equipment will be provided and you will be supported by a member of the Reserve staff.

Other Information

Under 18s/vulnerable adults would need to be accompanied by a responsible adult due to potential Safeguarding issues.
