The Neuroprogressive and Dementia Network (NDN) in Scotland in conjunction with Alzheimer Scotland believe that the people best placed to talk to someone about research are those with the best relationship with that person. Their programme gives people the confidence to have these conversations.
This session will help participants to become more confident in talking about dementia research and they will take away a toolkit that will support them when talking to clients.
Through presentations, videos, role play and groupwork, experienced leads will cover topics including:
- public and patient Involvement
- types of research
- a participant’s research journey
- ethics
- different ways to talk to people about dementia
The course is a full day however, the exact times are still to be confirmed.
Over 220 people have taken part in this training. Attendees have said they think the training will help them:
- Be more confident talking about research
- Be more likely to talk about research
- Help with Post Diagnostic Support Role
- Improve signposting to research
