The UK Charity Missing People will be facilitating a Missing Awareness Session for staff in the third sector. They are inviting professionals from third sector sector organisations across Scotland to join us for a short workshop that will increase your knowledge of missing and explore how you can build on the good practice in your local area.

The session will cover:

  • Identifying indicators someone could be at risk of going missing
  • Exploring best practice responses to support someone who has returned from a missing episode and prevention of future missing episodes.
  • Awareness raising of the National Missing Persons Framework and Missing People services, including our new SafeCall service for children and young people.

This session is free and funded by the Scottish Government as part of the National Missing Person Framework Implementation Project.

Missing People is dedicated to reconnecting missing people and their loved ones. They offer support to people affected by a disappearance through their free, confidential Helpline on 116 000. They launch publicity appeals to help bring missing people home and provide family support, counselling, and specialist services for issues related to missing such as exploitation and County Lines.
