Parents and carers of young people of secondary school age can take part in this 10 week parenting group, the Solihull Approach: Understanding Your Child.

Community Learning, Development and Employability (CLDE) are running the programme. Together, over 10, 2 hour sessions, you will explore aspects of child development and parenting, covering:

  • Introduction to the Solihull Approach
  • How are you and your child are feeling?
  • Tuning into your child’s developmental needs
  • Responding to your child’s feelings
  • Different styles of parenting
  • Parent-child partnership – having fun together!
  • The rhythm of interaction and sleep
  • Self-regulation and anger
  • Communication and attunement – how to recover when things go wrong
  • Celebration
