Parents and carers of young people of secondary school age can take part in this 10 week parenting group, the Solihull Approach: Understanding Your Child.
Community Learning, Development and Employability (CLDE) are running the programme. Together, over 10, 2 hour sessions, you will explore aspects of child development and parenting, covering:
- Introduction to the Solihull Approach
- How are you and your child are feeling?
- Tuning into your child’s developmental needs
- Responding to your child’s feelings
- Different styles of parenting
- Parent-child partnership – having fun together!
- The rhythm of interaction and sleep
- Self-regulation and anger
- Communication and attunement – how to recover when things go wrong
- Celebration
