Many groups and organisations rely on short-term project funding. In a changing funding landscape, that can make the future feel uncertain. The Accelerate Programme offers six days of free support, tailored to meet the group or organisation’s needs and help them become more resilient and enterprising. Topics include:
Developing marketing plans
Improved branding
Creating business plans
Finding digital solutions
Orkney is one of only two areas across Scotland where no groups and organisations applied to the programme last year. Community Enterprise is very keen to see applications from Orkney and is working in partnership with VAO to run a webinar to make sure local groups and organisations do not miss out in the future.
At the session, Community Enterprise will explore the opportunities of trading and how the Accelerate Programme can help groups to become more resilient and enterprising.
The webinar includes:
- A presentation on Trading, Diversification and New Markets: how trading can work for mission-led organisations
- An overview of Accelerate: 6 days of free, flexible, tailored business development support for third sector groups
- An open Q&A
Questions can be submitted in advance or asked on the day.
The session is open to all local groups and organisations who are trading or looking to trade but are not a social enterprise. It will be hosted online by Microsoft Teams and last about an hour.
Booking your place is essential. You are welcome to join VAO staff to attend from our meeting room if you prefer - let us know by answering the question when prompted during the booking process.
Orkney groups and organisations have successfully received support from the Accelerate Programme in the past. To get an idea of the kind of benefits it offers, Community Enterprise have published a number of case studies. Find them and more information about the programme on the Community Enterprise website.
To talk to someone about the session please contact Morgan Maxton Walls, VAO’s Community Development Coordinator.
