Join Voluntary Action Orkney (VAO) and Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services (VSDS) to find out about the changes to PVG legislation including, who needs to be checked and what criteria bring people into PVG.
VSDS will lead this online session aimed at Orkney groups, organisations and public sector partners. They will cover:
- how you access PVG checks
- how to get the PVG results back
- who should be checked
- who can see the disclosure information
- does being checked by one group mean a person is covered for other different groups
There will also be a Q&A session where you can ask any questions you may have about about the disclosure process. They do not need to be about the topics included in the presentation - any questions around the PVG's are welcomed and VSDS we do their best to answer.
The disclosure scheme guidance for was amended by Disclosure Scotland in December 2025 with a short further update in May 2026. VSDS is working with organisations like VAO to hold local sessions to help to ensure that everyone knows what they have to do and they are meeting their requirements around who needs to be checked.
