Disability Equality Scotland (DES) is working with Transport Scotland to capture the views of disabled people concerning travel within Scotland. This information will be used by Transport Scotland as they develop a successor to the current Accessible Travel Framework (ATF).
The Accessible Travel Framework (ATF) was published in 2016 and produced to:
- support disabled people’s rights by removing barriers and improving access to travel.
- ensure disabled people are fully involved in work to improve all aspects of travel.
The surveys are for any disabled person in Scotland (or someone providing support to a disabled person) to complete. No membership of Disability Equality Scotland is required.
You can answer the surveys if:
- You live in Scotland
- You are a disabled person
- You provide support for a disabled person
You can choose how you complete the survey. You can respond:
- online (including in Easy Read format)
- in hard copy and to return it to DES
- over the telephone with a member of research staff
If you would like a hard copy of the survey, please contact DES by emailing: transport@disabilityequality.scot
All surveys will close at 5.00pm on Monday, 5 January 2026
