The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has launched 'Data Protection Essentials' a free, online training programme designed specifically for charities and community organisations.
The training is bite-sized and self paced so it can fit into your working day. It will help you:
- put data protection into action and strengthen your everyday practices
- protect people and their information more proactively
- spot and avoid risks before they become problems
- use personal information confidently to build trust, improve relationships and make the most of new opportunities
You will receive:
- a digital certificate when you and your team complete the training
- a digital certificate for your group or organisation and the option to be listed on the 'Data Protection Essentials; public register' which can be found on the ICO website.
This training is aimed at organisations that:
- have less than 250 employees
- do not have a Data Protection Officer
- Are not undertaking high-risk data processing
