A strong flow of young talent helps organisations stay resilient, innovative, and reflective of the communities they serve. However, little is known about how well the Scottish third sector is building a pipeline of future leaders.

FreshSight, a student-led social enterprise, wants to understand what youth opportunities currently look like in Scotland’s third sector so they can help future-proof the sector, building a pipeline of motivated and skilled young talent.

They are interested in:

  • how confident you feel about attracting young talent
  • what kinds of youth opportunities you offer
  • what gets in the way of doing more

The information will help FreshSight build a clearer picture of youth involvement in Scotland’s VCS sector and helpidentify what is needed to strengthen future support, funding, and partnerships.

The findings will be shared with universities, training providers, and policy makers on how best to nurture Scotland’s next generation of third sector leaders.

The survey should be completed by 30 April 2026.

If you have any questions you can email FreshSight at insights@freshsight.com or contact Rocket Science, their research partner conducting the survey at Zubiya.Moin@rocketsciencelab.co.uk.
