To celebrate Trustees' Week this year, the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) is bringing back their popular Trustees' Week Conference in Edinburgh. Over 100 trustees and charity and governance experts will attend the free conference: Trustees for Impact: Today, tomorrow and beyond.
There will be interactive sessions, practical support, expert speakers and opportunities for networking and learning. It is also a chance to celebrate the important work trustees do while developing your knowledge and understanding of good governance.
Taking place in Edinburgh on 12 November, they will also share practical advice and experience to help you navigate some of the opportunities and challenges facing charities and their boards.
On the day, the sessions will cover four key areas:
- Legal updates and good governance – hear from Scotland’s top charity lawyers about the main challenges and opportunities facing the sector, with practical advice for trustees.
- Climate action and future proofing – build your confidence around climate action and explore how climate resilience connects to your organisation’s mission, finances and operations.
- Making your money and resources go further – get practical tips on charity investments, VAT and tax, and reducing energy costs against a backdrop of rising costs and changing funding.
- Digital leadership, AI and cyber – explore recent trends in digital and how trustees can make the most of technology while understanding the risks.
There will also be time to meet their sponsors and supporters, connect with other trustees and find out more about support available from SCVO and our partners.
