OSCR recently shared information on the response of groups and organisations to the new requirements which came in to effect on 30 June 2025. These were that all Scottish charities must submit their trustee information.

In just over a month 10% of groups and organistions on the Scottish Charity Register have already completed the process. This means that to date, the system has recorded details for over 15,000 charity trustees from 2,372 different charities - ensuring they are meeting their reporting requirements well ahead of schedule. By providing this data, charities are helping to build public trust and confidence in the sector, ensuring that governance is visible and accountable.

If your group of organisation is still to provide your charity's trustee information, you can find instructions on how to do this on the ORCR website. VAO has also prepared a guide to help you.
