The Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund will be opening for new applications very soon so keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for more details. This round brings an exciting change - the fund is now part of the Scottish Government's Fairer Funding pilot which means that groups can apply for either 1 year or 2 year grants.
This is the first time that this fund has been awarded on a multi-year basis. We anticipate that 60-80% will be allocated to 2 year projects. For groups awarded 2 year funding it will save them from applying again to Round 6, and hopefully will enable a level of security and stability. The only groups not eligible to apply for 2 year funding will be new groups who are not yet constituted, although they can still apply for 1 year in the same way as previous rounds of the fund.
The fund has a strong focus on prevention and early intervention and aims to build and develop capacity within community organisations to support the mental health and wellbeing of individuals. It aims to help tackle the impact of social isolation, loneliness and mental health inequalities made worse by the cost of living crisis.
