The Kirkwall Lifeboat Guild, officially the Kirkwall RNLI station, is a volunteer-run search and rescue service for the Orkney Islands, established in 1972. It operates an all-weather Severn-class lifeboat called the "Margaret Foster" and covers an area up to 50 miles offshore, with crews on-call 24/7. In addition to emergency response, the station supports its operations through community engagement, fundraising, and regular training for its volunteers.
