The advancement of the education of the public in the history, culture, natural history & other features of life in the parish of Birsay, Orkney.

We are a community run venue protecting and promoting the heritage of Hoy. Our building, a former 19th church, is always open. We offer cultural events, changing exhibitions and a community archive.

Hoy Kirk is a community run heritage centre and venue. We have an archive of Hoy related information including films, audios and photographs.

The Island of Hoy Development Trust aims to promote the well-being of the people of Hoy through sustainable, community-led projects; be this environmentally, socially, culturally or economically.

With an outdoor facility for all year round playing, we offer bowling facilities for all age groups and hold various competitions. Tuition can also be arranged.

Our group meets on the first Thursday of the month to enjoy the love of flowers and arranging. We are part of SAFAS Scottish association of flower arrangement societies.

The mobile library serves all areas of Orkney with the exception of Papa Westray and North Ronaldsay. Visits are every 8 weeks.
