Stromness Royal British Legion Pipe Band offers free tuition for the Highland Bagpipes and Marching Drums. All members of the community from the young to the old are welcome to join us, particularly intermediate and the more experienced payers. Uniform and instruments are provided and practice takes place weekly in the Stenness Community School from 7pm until 10pm.
We provide musical entertainment throughout Orkney, taking part in many annual events within the islands and the occasional trip away.
Becoming a member of the band does not require Legion membership and there is no obligation to join. We are an autonomous group who carry the Legion name simply for sponsorship and the ability to take part in legion events throughout Scotland.
