Echo Peer Coach Volunteers Needed.

Beat are looking for volunteer coaches to provide a free telephone support service that matches coaches with parent carers who are supporting someone with an eating disorder.

Echo is a Peer Coaching Support Service. It is a free telephone support service that matches skilled volunteer coaches with parent carers who are supporting someone with an eating disorder.

Not having someone to talk to regularly about the challenges and frustrations of supporting someone can be lonely and isolating, particularly if you’re not able to discuss and share with family and friends. A friendly, weekly, 30-minute chat on the phone can make all the difference.

How do you become a Peer Coach?

  1. You must have personal experience of caring for someone with an eating disorder, and the person you have cared for must be in sustained recovery
  1. You should have a passion to help others, and be prepared to share experiences to help with this
  1. Complete the application form and supply two referees who can comment on your suitability for the role
  1. Have internet access, a reliable telephone connection, and be able to use a computer
